I directed a small team for our marketing shoot as well as created the branding and all designs for the show.
The Hostess Next Door is one the of many web-series LittleThings created and I oversaw as Art Director. It was a series created for the Facebook Live platform.
This series is a down-to-earth, approachable cooking show with Chef Vanessa Cantave. She often co-hosts with various guest stars and makes hosting parties easy for the average person. My inspiration for the design of her branding and graphics and tone of photos came from modern greeting cards. I wanted it to feel approachable, hence the script font, but also something to aspire to. The fonts were chosen also because they were inspired by Olive Oil typography, and I felt they also fell in line with the original concept I'd created. I loved the idea of the graphics blooming onto screen, making the paper flowers take on a life of their own, which is how I directed my animator to animate them. I wanted her photography to be bright, white, and soft, lots of creaminess behind her.
